What is the PCA?
The Pineland Community Association (PCA) is a non-profit organization consisting of property owners in the Pinelands area. The Pineland area is defined as "those lands in Sauk County WI bounded by Hwy. 14 on the North, the Wisconsin River on the South, and by Dyke and Monument Roads on the East (provisional). Anyone living within the Pineland area can be a member, and areas geographically contiguous to the Pineland area can be included in the Association if a petition for membership is presented to the Board of Directors. Originally established in the 1970s the Pineland Community Association was organized by a group of seasonal residents who owned vacationland in the area as a means to promote closer bonds of fellowship among the people of the Pinelands, to promote the quality of the community, and the improvement and protection of our natural resources. The PCA still promotes the original goals of the organization, but also now involves itself much more in local and county government. Recently the PCA was instrumental in curtailing a proposed ATV trail system through the Sauk County Forest (located in the Pinelands area). Monthly meetings are usually held on the 3rd Monday of the month at the Spring Green Town Hall.
